Employment that starts with the person
Better Merch is a Social Traders Certified Social Enterprise creating meaningful, fairly paid employment for neurodivergent, Indigenous, and long-term unemployed Australians through the sale of custom merchandise and signage. Their model is intentionally built around people’s strengths, not a fixed job description. The result: more than 3,500 hours of real, paid employment generated through everyday procurement decisions.
Only 53.4% of Australians with disability participate in the labour force, compared to 84.1% of those without (ABS). Better Merch is actively closing that gap, one order at a time.
Introducing: Recycling and Repurposing Merch and Signage
They just announced the launch of a new Recycling and Repurposing Merch and Signage service designed to redirect end-of-life branded merchandise and signage from landfill. Organisations now have a practical, purposeful way to manage surplus or outdated products responsibly. Social impact through procurement extended into responsible disposal.
