Tech for Good – Social Impact

Youth make up almost a fifth of the world’s population, and the youth population is surging. Close to 85 percent of the 1.2 billion young men and women between the ages of 18 and 24 live in developing countries across Asia (60%), Africa (15%), Latin America & the Caribbean (10%) and other parts of the developing world (15%).

Over the next decade, one billion young people will enter the global workforce – the largest cohort ever to reach employment age. The World Bank estimates that simply to keep pace with this growth, 40 million new jobs must be created each year to accommodate for new market entrants, in addition to absorbing the 200 million who are currently unemployed.

In order to help solve a big problem, we have to think differently. And we have to do it together. To this end, InternMatch has launched the Global Internship Challenge in partnership with the Mandela Legacy Foundation.
