NSW Public Service & Specialisterne Australia Tailored Talent Program

TechDiversity-Winner-Government-2021

TechDiversity Winner Government Category 2021

In 2020 Specialisterne Australia partnered with the NSW Public Service Commission (PSC) to conducted a pilot Tailored Talent program. Through this pilot program we have worked closely with the NSW Public Service Commission to target and employ talented autistic individuals into a variety of skilled public service roles in NSW. Across several NSW PSC agencies including Transport NSW, Sydney Trains, Greater Sydney Commission, Department of Customer Service and NSW Police State.

As part of this pilot program we successfully placed 14 candidates into meaningful employment and have trained more than 300+ staff in understanding autism and building capacity in relation to autism inclusive workplaces. As the successful candidates now approach 12 months of employment all 14 are still successfully employed, with the majority receving contract extensions or permanent roles and in several instances internal promotions.
