The Victorian Indigenous Engineering Winter School (VIEWS) Program

The Victorian Indigenous Engineering Winter School (VIEWS) is an initiative arising out of the 2015 National Indigenous Engineering Summit and a collaboration between the University of Melbourne, Monash, RMIT and Swinburne Universities. The national outreach program aims to provide years 10, 11 and 12 Indigenous high school students an immersive experience of engineering and IT and the offerings of the four Universities.

Students have the opportunity to experience the work of engineers, meet Indigenous engineers, discover pathways to engineering and explore four different university settings. VIEWS is a key engagement activity of the University of Melbourne that provides and supports access, participation and impact for Indigenous high school students to address the significant underrepresentation of Indigenous Australians in engineering and IT studies and consequently in the profession.
