Creating a culture of inclusion: DCJ’s Accessible Communications Framework
In 2024, the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) has driven a cultural transformation of inclusion with its Accessible Communications Framework. The groundbreaking initiative, led by the Digital Experience Unit, uses a dynamic model of “Educate, Embed, Empower” to grow accessibility practices across the Department. The framework addresses the need for inclusive communication, focusing on policy development, usability testing, and maturing the capability of our workforce. By fostering a culture of accessibility, DCJ strives to improve the digital experience for all people, regardless of their ability or environment.
