On March 29th, we had the pleasure of hosting our most recent TechDiversity Community Connect event at the ACS (Australian Computer Society) office in Brisbane.
We were fortunate to hear from a diverse group of presenters who shared their innovative Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE+I) initiatives and personal journeys.
As Maree Lang, a 2023 Tech Diversity Award nominee, stated, “Diversity is fact, Equity is a choice, Inclusion is an action, and Belonging is an outcome.” Let’s keep working towards making DE+I a reality for every business and everyone.
We are committed to continuing to bring these events to our community so that we can meet and learn from those who are making a difference in the DE+I space and truly understand what’s possible.
We were inspired by the fabulous initiatives presented that are working towards making a difference, but also saw some alarming statistics about marginalised communities, which is still a very big concern for us, and we still have a lot of work to do.
Stacey Hutchinson, Senior Operations Director at TechDiversity, shared her excitement about the passionate community in attendance, and challenged them to reach out to their leaders and attend the TechDiversity Awards gala dinner on May 25th. Attending will provide leaders with first-hand experience of the impact, stories, and leadership required to ensure the tech workforces match the community it serves.
We would like to thank all the amazing presenters who made this such a successful and energizing night.
